Blind Low Vision NZ is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal and health information collected through this Online Library Catalogue (VIOPAC) is handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 1994.

Information collected through this catalogue

The information we collect through VIOPAC is limited to what is needed to operate the lending service: your patron account details for authentication and the audit data that records your loans, requests and search activity. No payment or donor information is collected through this catalogue.

How your information is used

Your account information is used solely to provide library services — for example, to authenticate you, to fulfil your requests, and to keep your loan history. Aggregated, non-identifying usage data may be used to improve the catalogue.

Security

All traffic between your device and the catalogue is transmitted over secure (HTTPS) channels. Once collected, Blind Low Vision NZ takes reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
